The Saviour Jesus Christ Is the Centre of Christmas

What do you think about Christmas? Many regard Christmas as an opportunity for holidays, family reunions and friend gatherings, or entertainments with Christmas trees, Christmas lights, Christmas carols, Christmas cards, Christmas parties…, but ignoring the meaning of Christmas or failing to worship the Saviour Jesus Christ, the Centre of Christmas.

Although the 25th of December is not the exact Birthday of the Lord Jesus, His Birth is a real event recorded in the Holy Scripture and in human history, dividing the world timeline: BC - Before Christ, and AD – Anno Domini (in the year of the Lord). Therefore, this is a good opportunity to remind all mankind including you and me to celebrate, worship and preach the good news of God’s loving salvation to many others.

Why did the Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, come into the world? That is “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16), and “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins”  (1 John 4 :9-10). These Scriptural verses tell us that God so loved mankind including you and me, that Jesus Christ died for our sins, “to be the propitiation for our sins,” and that He rose again so that “we might live through him.” If we believe and receive the Lord Jesus Christ as our Saviour and King, we shall “not perish, but have everlasting life.” How about your attitude toward God’s love at this Christmas?
