The Loving God (Part 7)

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John 3:16). This Scripture verse shows that although God loves all mankind and desires everyone to be saved, not all will be saved automatically, but only “whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life”

Many believe that because God loved all mankind and that the Lord Jesus died for all, all will be saved, and there will be nobody condemned to Hell. Such a belief is unbiblical. The Scripture confirms, He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him” (John 3:36) and “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death” (Rev 21:8).

Then, what does it mean to “believe in Jesus”? The true faith must be proved by a humble, repentant and submissive heart to the Lord Jesus and God’s Word. Satan also believes that there is one God and trembles (James 2:19), but he is not saved due to his arrogance and rebellion against God. Many say that they believe in the Lord while they are still living according to their own will, loving the world, living in sins, listening to, watching, reading and doing what they like regardless of God’s Word. They are still king of their lives, not the Lord Jesus, who says, “Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven” (Matt 7:21).

Dear friends, the Lord Jesus loves you and wants to save you, but have you sincerely repented and received Him as your personal King and Saviour?
