Man with His Concept of Worship

Only human beings have the concept of worship, and this shows that they are different from animals and cannot evolve from animals. The Scripture tells us that God is the Creator, and He created the heaven and the earth, the universe, and all species and things by His Word, but when creating human beings, “God created man in his own image” and “formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living soul” (Gen 1:27; 2:7). Therefore, man has immortal soul with his will, conscience, concept of worship, power of reason, intelligence and talents that animals do not have.

We never see animals, even monkeys, worship the Creator, or invent modern means of communication and transport. They do not have language to communicate in oral and written words, nor libraries and schools to teach and convey knowledge to younger generations, nor hospitals with doctors and nurses to treat and take care of patients, nor funeral nor burial for the dead. An animal can eat another animal and still has a sound sleep, while man is conscience-stricken at doing something wrong or sinful. Animals die and are finished, but human souls are eternal.

Due to the disobedience of the first human beings, Adam and Eve, sin and death came into the world: physical death (separated from soul), spiritual death (separated from God) and eternal death (condemned to Hell on the Judgment Day). Therefore, the first step for our worship to be acceptable unto God is to repent and receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour of our lives to receive the forgiveness of sins and salvation of our souls, “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house” (Acts 16:31).
