Easter (Part 2)

Today is Good Friday, the day we commemorate the Lord Jesus, who was despised, beaten, crucified on the cross, was dead and buried. All is for whom? All is for the sins of all mankind, including yours and mine. However, unlike other religious leaders who died and are still in their tombs, the Lord Jesus is the Son of God, humbled Himself to become a Man, died for our sins and the third day He rose again and was seen of His disciples, and of above five hundred brethren at once, and of the apostle Paul (1 Cor 15:3-8).

The resurrection of the Lord Jesus is the important foundation of our faith and our salvation. A dead person cannot save or help anyone as he cannot see, hear, know, move, or have any power. The Scripture says, “If Christ be not risen, then is our preaching vain, and your faith is also vain… ye are yet in your sins…are perished” (1 Cor 15:14, 17-18). Truly, if the Lord Jesus Christ had not risen, it is vain and a waste of time for you and me to trust in Him, pray to Him and worship Him as He could not hear, know, help or save!

Thanks be to God because the Lord Jesus really rose again and overcame death. He is really living and He sees you, knows you, loves you, hears your prayers, and has power to save you and me perfectly, “Wherefore he is able also to save them to the uttermost that come unto God by him, seeing he ever liveth to make intercession for them” (Heb 7:25).

The resurrection of the Lord Jesus secures the new life He gives to those who believe in Him, a victorious life over their sinful nature and temptations of this world as well as secures their resurrection. The Lord Jesus’ resurrection also secures His sure return (Acts 1:11; 1 Cor 15:22, 34, 51, 57). The Lord Jesus Christ is the Risen Saviour. Have you believed in Him and worship Him?
