God’s Guidance (Part 7)

Commit Everything to the Lord and Trust in Him: “Commit thy way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass… Rest in the LORD, and wait patiently for him” (Ps 37:5, 7). Even when we do not see God’s will and way clearly, it is wise for you and me to commit everything to the Lord, trust in Him, and wait upon Him. It is a great testing when we have to wait upon the Lord in urgent situations or in making an important decision. King Saul failed to wait upon the Lord when he saw the enemies approaching and his people scattering and hiding. He foolishly offered burnt sacrifices, thinking that by doing that his people might be encouraged and strengthened, but he was rebuked by the Lord (1 Sam 13:8-13). Dear friends, do you and I patiently wait upon the Lord, trust in Him, and commit everything to Him no matter whatever may happen to us in urgent situations and dangers?

Walk after the Lord Jesus Step by Step: The Lord Jesus followed the guidance of His Father (God) and faithfully fulfilled His Father’s will and work regardless of the shameful and painful way of the cross. Under human eyes, Jesus’ death on the cross was a hopeless end. However, before God, the Lord Jesus would not die forever, but He would arise triumphantly from the dead and become the risen Saviour of all mankind! Let us look unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God” (Heb 12:2). It is wise and safe for a sheep to walk after the Shepherd, and not to run before Him. You and I do not know what may happen to us tomorrow, but if we trust in the Lord and walk after Him step by step at a time, we shall be guided, protected and blessed by Him.
