Trust in God's Mercy (Part 6)

It is vital to trust in and cry for God’s mercy upon us always in all circumstances. In order to keep on enjoying God’s mercy and goodness upon our lives, we need to follow the teaching of God’s Word:

Confess and Forsake Sins: “He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy” (Prov 28:13). Do you and I still have any sins that have not been confessed, forgiven and forsaken?

Fear God: “But the mercy of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting upon them that fear him, and his righteousness unto children's children” (Ps 103:17). “The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate” (Prov 8:13). Do you and I truly fear the Lord?

Come to God in Prayer: “Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace (God’s presence), that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need” (Heb 4:16). Do you and I wisely come to God in prayer?

Love God and Keep God’s Word: “Know therefore that the LORD thy God, he is God, the faithful God, which keepeth covenant and mercy with them that love him and keep his commandments to a thousand generations” (Deut 7:9). Do you and I truly love God and keep His Word?

Wait upon the Lord and trust in His Mercy: “Our eyes wait upon the LORD our God, until that he have mercy upon us.” (Ps 123:2b). Do you and I wait upon the Lord until He has mercy upon us?

Show Mercy to Others: “Blessed are the merciful: for they shall obtain mercy” (Matt 5:7). Do you and I show mercy to others?

May the Lord help you and me do His Word in order to enjoy His mercy always. Please read our next article.
