A Humble Heart (Part 4)
“God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the
humble” (James 4:6), so in order to enjoy
God’s grace and blessings, you and I have to humble ourselves before
Him. What does this mean?
Believe in God’s Word with a Submissive Heart:
God has manifested His love and salvation to mankind through His Word
recorded in the Holy Scriptures. If you do not believe in God’s Word,
nor read it, nor listen to it, nor obey it, it is an arrogant attitude
of a creature against the Creator. The Lord Jesus says, “And if any
man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to
judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and
receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have
spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day” (John 12:47-48).
Dear friends, if you want to enjoy God’s grace and blessings, start
reading the Holy Scriptures with a humble, trusting and submissive
heart, and you “shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water,
that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not
wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper” (Ps 1:3).
Repent of Your Sins and Receive the Lord Jesus as Your
Saviour: The Holy Scriptures exposes our sins,
“For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Rom
3:23) and reveals God’s love and salvation for mankind, “For God so
loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever
believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life” (John
3:16). If you reject God’s love and salvation for you, that is a proud
attitude and surely you will not escape the punishment on the Judgment
Day, “But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and
murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all
liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and
brimstone: which is the second death” (Rev 21:8). Have you repented
of your sins and prayed to the Lord to save you? Please read our next
article.
