A Joyful Heart (Part 7)

A joyful heart in all situations is very precious and necessary for you and me. Why? God’s Word says, “A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones” (Prov 17:22). Exactly, whether you believe or not, a heart full of worries, stress, sadness, complaint, bitterness, anger, envy, vengeance, etc., is very harmful for your health: getting old quickly, losing good appetite and sound sleep, having headaches, having problems with your liver, bones, stomach, nerve system, digestive system, etc., while a joyful heart is a good remedy, increasing your strength, “for the joy of the LORD is your strength” (Neh 8:10). Then, keeping your heart joyful at all times is wise.

Do you really want to have a joyful heart? Come to the Lord Jesus Christ in your prayer, ask Him to save you from the bondage of sins, self, worldly pleasures and receive Him as the Lord and Saviour of your hearts and lives. The Lord Jesus truly loves you and has power to change your hearts and give you His joy, which no one nor any situation is able to take away because that joy comes from a heart reigned by the Lord with His loving care, guidance, comfort, protection and blessings. That is the joy of the Lord and not of worldly pleasures, “Rejoice in the Lord always” (Phil 4:4). That is a joy in God’s Word and not in human empty words, “I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil” (Ps 119:162). That is a joy in God’s salvation and His goodness and mercy, “my heart shall rejoice in thy salvation… I will be glad and rejoice in thy mercy” (Ps 13:5; 31:7). And that is a joy in the Holy Spirit, “For the kingdom of God is not meat and drink; but righteousness, and peace, and joy in the Holy Ghost” (Rom 14:17). Please read our next article.
