Suffer the Little Children

(Testimonies of Our Children at the True Life Family Bible Camp, Bintan Agro Beach Resort, Indonesia, June 9-13, 2008)

“Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not: for of such is the kingdom of God. Verily I say unto you, Whosoever shall not receive the kingdom of God as a little child, he shall not enter therein” (Mark 10:14-15).

I have learned that God is sovereign and no other gods can replace Him. Jesus Christ is the only way to heaven. I have learned all the attributes of God and why He loves us so much. I enjoyed the puppet show the most. Jonathan (12)

I thank God for Aunty Jenny for preaching the lessons to us. I have learned a lot of things that God has shown us. I have also learned that He is sovereign, holy, omniscient, omnipotent, omnipresent, and truth. Most of all, I like to thank God for the fellowship and fun that we had together. I really enjoyed this camp. God has truly blessed us and kept us safe in His holy hands. Junji (11)

What I like best from the church camp was the Q&A session by Dr Jeffrey Khoo. We asked questions and learned a lot about the end times. After the session, I had a stronger faith in God and knew that I had to believe in God with my whole heart so that I would not be left out of God’s army. I praise the Lord for teaching me and I hope to walk a closer walk with Him. May Lynn (11)

The highly anticipated church camp was not to be underestimated. We had fun and gained knowledge at the same time. Our five days of camp were filled with action and fun. We had learned hymn stories. The lessons were no less than listening to a storyteller—they were really interesting! I enjoyed the trip to White Sands Island really much. Although there was a constant threat of getting stung by a jellyfish, I think we still had a whale of a time. The trip back was thrilling as the boat rocked back and forth and water splashed me from all sides. When we reached the shore, we saw a rainbow and I was really excited. I liked going to the kelong the best. It was my first time fishing and I caught two fish! They were both edible and I was glad I was able to eat them during dinner. Overall I think our time was well spent. Timothy (10)

We learned about the attributes of God, that He is sovereign—overall in charge, holy—100% pure and perfect, omniscient—all knowing, omnipresent—everywhere, omnipotent—all powerful, and Truth! And then we had a Q&A with Dr Jeffrey Khoo on Thursday, which was really fun! My favourite thing—swimming! Andrew (10)

This year’s church camp was at Bintan Agro Beach Resort. What I enjoyed most was the trip to the kelong. I enjoyed the fishing trip as we caught a puffer fish. During classes, I learned that God is sovereign, holy, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent and the truth. I really thank God for this year’s church camp! Galvin (10)

“And thou shalt be secure, because there is hope;
yea, thou shalt dig about thee,
and thou shalt take thy rest in safety” (Job 11:18)

I thank God for the opportunity to attend this church camp. I learned six hymn stories in the morning. The six lessons were themed, “Big Questions about Prayer.” The food was nice too. I thank God for good weather during the Kelong and White Sand Island trips. It only rained on the day that we had indoor games. I also thank God for safety in the trip to Indonesia. I had fun. I liked playing football too. Jerald (9)

...the fruit of our lips giving thanks to His Name” (Heb 13:15)

I have learnt many things during the six lessons in the church camp. We all had a fun time asking questions during a special Q&A programme with Dr Jeffrey Khoo. Everyone enjoyed the trip to White Sands Island. Some people got stung by the jellyfish in the sea. I praise the Lord for protecting me from being stung by the jellyfish. It was a perfect time in the camp. Natalia (9)

During the church camp, I have learnt that God is sovereign, holy, omniscient, omnipresent, omnipotent, and truth. Even when there was jellyfish at White Sand Island, the Lord still protected us and gave us good weather. I thank the Lord for protecting me. I enjoyed the Q&A the most by Dr Jeffrey Khoo. Johanna (9)

I learn about prayers. I like to play at the beach. I thank Jesus for saving me from my sins. Thaddeus (8)

I like the church camp because I had fun with my friends. I learned many things about prayer in six lessons. We went to the White Sand Island on Tuesday and on the third day we played indoor games, and the fourth day we went to fish. On the last day, we got our things and we went home. Andre (7)
